Amber Fowler, CMHC

Amber completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Colorado State University and earned a master’s degree in Counseling in 2009.  Amber specializes in the treatment of complex trauma and substance abuse.  She comes to the Green River clinic with diverse experience in behavioral health and substance abuse related issues.  Amber has worked in private practice serving military and veteran populations, outpatient substance abuse/behavioral health, criminal justice services and federal probation and parole, inpatient/residential treatment centers, and has worked in the area of prevention services, providing community assistance and education programs.  

Amber has 10 years of experience working with trauma, substance abuse disorders and addictions.  Her clinical interests include EMDR – eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma informed care, supportive therapy, accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy (AEDP) and mindfulness techniques tailored to help clients most effectively overcome difficulties and achieve their life goals.

Amber lived in Colorado where she completed her education and moved to Utah in 2011 where she met her husband and began her family. Amber has two children that she adores, Cooper (4), and Carter (1).  She enjoys spending time with her family, spending time outdoors, traveling, reading/learning, and fashion. Amber and her husband recently relocated to Green River, Utah where they are excited to be near her parents and extended family, and where they can raise their two sons in a peaceful and beautiful community.  Amber is excited to be back home, and excited to bring her skills and knowledge to her beloved town!

 The Green River Medical Center contracts with Four Corners Behavioral Health to add an additional Behavioral Health Provider one day a week. The provider does outreach to the High School and is available for scheduled appointments.
